Physical and Chemical Properties	Chemical brown powder. Good water solubility, soluble in ethylene glycol ether, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in other organic solvents. Its aqueous solution is magenta, adding concentrated hydrochloric acid to produce yellow olive brown precipitate, adding concentrated alkali to produce purple precipitate. It is dark blue in concentrated sulfuric acid, and it produces light orange-brown precipitate after dilution; it is bright blue in concentrated nitric acid and turns red and light brown. In dyeing, the color light of iron ions is basically unchanged, and the color light of copper ions is slightly darker.
Use	Use Direct sun-resistant red 4B is used for dyeing and direct printing of cotton and viscose fabric, and the ground color is dyed blue and red. It has good dyeing and levelness, good hiding power for viscose filaments with uneven quality, and poor dyeing rate. It is also used for dyeing silk and high-temperature dyeing polyester-viscose blended fabrics in the same bath with disperse dyes.
